Stéphane Blet, born on March 9, 1969, was a French classical pianist and composer. He began his international concert career in 1986 with recitals at the Salle Gaveau and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. In 1987, his "Franz Liszt marathon" garnered critical acclaim. He signed with Philips Classics and recorded two CDs. His recording of "Piano Sonata in B minor" was selected as one of the best CDs by Diapason in 1989. He composed over 300 works for various instruments and ensembles. In 1996, he was decorated by the Turkish government for his cycle of Turkish and Ottoman Rhapsodies. Blet served as a professor at the École normale de musique de Paris in 2001 and chaired several international competitions. He died on January 7, 2022, following a fall in Geneva, Switzerland.
