Jan Andrzej Paweł Kaczmarek, born 29 April 1953 in Konin, Poland, was a composer whose work spanned stage and screen. He began his career composing for theatre productions, later expanding into film scoring. Kaczmarek released his first major soundtrack in 1997 with Washington Square, followed by Infidèle in 2002. His portfolio grew with Finding Neverland (2005), The Visitor (2008), and the wartime score Passchendaele (2010). That year he also scored Hachi: A Dog's Tale and the documentary Get Low. In 2018 he released Paul, Apostle of Christ. He composed for both feature films and documentaries, blending orchestral and electronic textures. Kaczmarek passed away on 21 May 2024 in Kraków, leaving a legacy of polished, narrative‑driven compositions.
