Biografie
Cuco is the alias of Omar Banos, a California-raised singer/songwriter whose indie-pop music is shaped by a diverse mix of Latin and American influences. Born on June 26, 1998, in Inglewood, California, he was raised by Mexican immigrants and embraced music as a young child, performing seven instruments by the age of 15. After graduating high school, he self-released his debut EP, Heavy Trip, in 2015 and adopted the "Cuco" moniker shortly thereafter. Another homemade project — the Wannabewithu mixtape — appeared in 2016, with Songs4u following one year later. The viral single "Lo Que Siento" was also released in 2017, earning over 100 million digital streams and introducing Cuco's bilingual music to a significantly wider audience. Signing with Interscope after a two-year bidding war, he made his major-label debut in 2019 with Para Mi. Largely self-produced and self-written by the 21 year-old musician, Pari Mi peaked at Number 6 on the Billboard Top Alternative Albums chart and showcased the full range of Cuco's interests, with genre-jumping songs that nodded to rap, bossa nova, synth-pop, indie rock, and soul.
