HOLY SHIP is the creation of Jonatan Westh, formerly of late 00's shoegazers BLACKSTRAP (SWE). As HOLY SHIP, the maiden voyage is exploring post-punk dark-wave with anthemic hooks and driving rhythm as with latest single “Tau͟” and debut single "Lüst". After BLACKSTRAP disintegrated by 2013 developing into various sonic particles (I BREAK HORSES, THE HEART OF THE SUN), Westh regrouped with building his own studio, Pink House Studios in Stockholm. This is where Westh mixed various recordings for Stockholm bands Runtom Knuten and Danmarck which sparked the recordings to what would be his new music as HOLY SHIP. Expanding from his shoegaze roots with inspiration from the synths of TrenteMöller, John Maus, and Clark, HOLY SHIP offers a fresh direction in first single “Lüst͟”, and follow-up single “Tau͟” mixed by US producer/mixer Ed Ackerson (BNLX, Polara, The Jayhawks, Motion City Soundtrack). 2018 has been very welcoming to HOLY SHIP internationally with support from radio tastemakers like KEXP(US), charting Top 10 at Swedish student radio and gaining tastemaker playlists. HOLY SHIP will release a mini-LP early 2019.
