In the roaring heart of a rock revolution, Skyline blazed a trail as fearless pioneers, storming onto the stage as the inaugural headliners of the iconic Wacken Open Air Festival. Rising from the thunderous depths of the "Loudest Place on Earth," this hard and heavy cover band emerged in the mid-eighties, igniting the nation with electrifying performances. From the smoky haze of biker clubs to the wild chaos of self-organised rock extravaganzas, they carved their legend, sharing the spotlight with titans like Extrabreit.
The band's founding members are the bass-thumping maestro Thomas Jensen and the rhythm-smashing powerhouse Andreas "Gösy" Schlüter. Their passion ignited the legendary flames of the Wacken Open Air Festival, a celebration born from their undying devotion to rock music. Though Thomas has ascended to the ranks of festival directorship, his bass now silent in the band's symphony, Gösy still commands the drums with relentless vigour, keeping the rhythm of their epic journey alive and pulsating.
Skyline burst back into the spotlight in 2009, poised to open the hallowed grounds of the Wacken Open Air Festival’s 20th anniversary with a rejuvenated lineup. Leading the charge was the electrifying presence of Dan Hougesen, a virtuoso whose vocal prowess and stage charisma bordered on the supernatural. With a voice that soared to dizzying heights and plumbed the depths of emotion, Dan is more than a singer—a vocal acrobat, a maestro of melody who commands attention with every note.
A decade had passed, and in 2019, as the Wacken Open Air Festival celebrated its 30th anniversary, the iconic Wacken band made history by releasing their inaugural album, "UNCOVERED." True to its title, the album unveiled the band's original compositions for the first time, including two anthems crafted exclusively for the festival's milestone celebration. With this groundbreaking release, the band discovered a newfound passion for songwriting, paving the way for their eagerly anticipated second album, "Human Monster," set to unleash its raw power upon the world imminently.
As they gear up to release their second studio album, Skyline is ready to take the rock world by storm again. With a collection of powerful new tracks that push the boundaries of their sound while staying true to their roots, the band is ready to reaffirm their status as rock royalty.
Skyline continues to open the main stage of the legendary Wacken Open Air Festival in front of thousands of enthusiastic heavy metal fans with electrifying performances, soaring melodies, blistering guitar riffs, and thunderous rhythms that energise the audience at a primal level. Drawing their inspiration from classic and modern rock legends, Skyline has crafted a timeless and contemporary sound.
