Biography

Dancehall artist Byron Messia was born on April 10, 2000, in Jamaica, but spent most of his life in the Caribbean country of Kitts and Nevis. In 2020, he introduced himself to the world with his debut mixtape, Different Perspectives. Yet, it was in 2021 that he truly made a mark, bursting onto the rap scene with the melodic dancehall track "Last Forever." Quick to prove his worth, he followed up with hits like “TOXIC” and “WHO?,” which also enjoyed great popularity in the Caribbean pop scene. 2022 saw the release of his self-composed, 9-track album Pills and Pain. "Outcast," one of the album's tracks, swiftly accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams across platforms. Continuing his meteoric rise, Byron Messia dropped his sophomore effort NO LOVE in 2023, featuring contributions from artists like Govana, Prince Swanny, and Rytikal. The album's success was largely thanks to the single "Talibans," which not only reached Number 44 on the UK streaming charts but its remix with Burna Boy, "Talibans II," charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at Number 99, also peaking at Number 32 on the US R&B charts.
