Biographie

Linda Scott is an American singer and actress best known for her hit song "I've Told Every Little Star," which reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. Born Linda Joy Sampson on June 1, 1945, in Queens, New York, she began her singing career at a young age, performing at local venues and becoming a regular guest on Arthur Godfrey's CBS radio show. After making her recording debut with the single "In-Between Teen" in 1959, she signed a recording contract with Canadian-American Records and released the single "I've Told Every Little Star," which became a major hit, peaking at Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning her a gold record. This success was followed by the release of her studio debut Starlight, Starbright in 1961. Over the next few years, she continued to release successful singles such as the Top 10 entries "Don't Bet Money, Honey," "I Don't Know Why," and "Count Every Star." She also appeared in films and television shows, including Don't Knock the Twist and Where the Action Is. Following the release of the album Hey, Look at Me Now! in 1965, Scott retired from the music industry in the early 70s and received a degree in Theology from Kingsway Christian College. Her breakout single "I've Told Every Little Star," was later featured in the 2001 David Lynch film Mulholland Drive.
