Italian MC Davide De Luca (born on November 4, 1988), better known Gemitaiz, made a name for himself in the Roman underground rap scene before releasing a series of mixtapes that cemented his reputation as one of the lead exponents of Italian hip-hop. Even though he began performing in 2003, De Luca made his recording debut as a member of hip-hop collective Xtreme Team in 2006 with the mixtape Affare romano, which was followed by Affare romano vol. 2 in 2007. His first mixtape as a solo artist arrived the following year under the title No(mix)tape, prompting an invitation from independent label Honiro to join their roster. Under their wing, De Luca dropped the mixtapes Quello che vi consiglio (2009), Quello che vi consiglio vol. 2 (2010), and Quello che vi consiglio III (2012), as well as a couple of collaborative mixtapes with rappers Canesecco and MadMan. First studio album L’unico compromesso arrived in 2013, peaking at Number 3 on the Italian Albums Chart. Following an arrest for drug possession in 2014, De Luca teamed up with MadMan once again for Kepler, which went straight to the top of the Italian charts and obtained gold certification two months after its release. Follow-up album Nonostante tutto (2015) met a similar fate, debuting at Number 1 on the Albums Chart and quickly becoming a gold record. Preceded by the chart-topping single “Oro e argento,” Davide saw the light in 2017 and featured guest spots by Gué Pequeno, MadMan, and Coez. In 2019, De Luca and MadMan broke an all-time record as the single “Veleno VII” amassed over a million plays on streaming platforms in 24 hours. Only a year later, the rapper returned with ninth mixtape QVC9 (2020), whose lead single “Mama” reached Number 4 on the Italian Singles Chart.
