SZA

Real name Solána Imani Rowe, born in St. Louis, Missouri (USA), on November 8, 1989, singer SZA released her first self-produced EP, SEE.SZA RUN, in 2012, and a second entitled S the following year. Signed by independent label Top Dawg Entertainment, the contemporary R&B singer recorded a new EP called Z (2014). Released in 2017, her debut album Ctrl received critical and popular acclaim, reaching number three in sales across all genres and number one in R&B/rap. Certified platinum, it features collaborations with artists such as Pharrell Williams, Frank Dukes and Tyran Donaldson, and is nominated in five categories at the Grammy Awards. Time magazine ranks it Best Album of 2017. SZA follows this up with the track "What Lovers Do", in collaboration with the band Maroon 5, and a remix of Lorde's "Homemade Dynamite" with Khalid and Post Malone. In 2018, the singer was invited by Kendrick Lamar to perform the first single from the Black Panther film soundtrack, "All the Stars". She then collaborates with Cardi B on "I Do". Over the next two years, she took part in several soundtracks such as Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021) and Dear Evan Hansen (2021), and unveiled the first singles from her second album, "Good Days" (#9 in 2020) and "I Hate U" (#7 in 2021). Released shortly afterwards in 2022, SOS tops the sales charts in the U.S. and reaches #2 in the UK. The album, featuring contributions from Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott and Ol' Dirty Bastard, is followed by a two-year world tour, The SOS Tour. In return for his contribution to Kendrick Lamar's GNX album, Lamar was invited to guest on the SOS reissue, entitled Lana, released in 2025, with their duet on "30 for 30".
