The Dutch rock band Kane was formed in the Hague in 1998 by Dinand Woesthoff and Dennis van Leeuwen, who met each other while working at a local cafe. Their shared passion for music quickly culminated in a partnership that took its first steps by playing shows for small crowds in venues around the city. In 1999, the duo released their debut single "Where Do I Go Now," reaching number 29 on the Dutch Top 40. This success led to their debut album, As Long as You Want This, in 2000, which not only achieved double-platinum status but also paved the way for other successful releases such as So Glad You Made It (2001) and What If (2003), their first chart-topper in the Netherlands. Released in 2005, their fourth LP Fearless also hit number 1 on the Dutch Albums Chart driven by the success of "Dreamer," a track written in honor of Woesthoff's wife Guusje Nederhorst, who tragically passed away from breast cancer. Continuing their musical expedition, Kane delivered a string of well-received albums like Everything You Want (2008), No Surrender (2009), and Come Together (2012). Kane officially disbanded in 2014 and returned less than a decade later with the single "What Are You Waiting For?," released in September 2023.
