Felix Laband, born Felix Johny Paul Laband in 1977 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, is an electronic music artist known for his light, emotional, minimalist soundscapes. His early works include Thin Shoes in June (2001) and 4/4 Down the Stairs (2002), which laid the foundation for his unique style that blends classical, jazz, and old television recordings with instrumental performances. Laband's breakthrough came with Dark Days Exit (2005), released under Open Record and Compost Records internationally. His subsequent albums include Deaf Safari (2015) and The Soft White Hand (2022).
