Born on June 4, 1992 in the Dominican Republic, Dominican-American contemporary R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Elijah Blake began his career writing music for prominent artists like Keyshia Cole, Rick Ross, and Rihanna. Raised in Florida by a Haitian father and Dominican mother, as a 16-year-old he caught the attention of Atlantic Records who signed him up to work with Trey Songz on his Ready album in 2009. Three years later, and Elijah Blake scored a chart-topping hit via Usher, co-writing the single "Climax," which topped Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 2012. The success of the single helped to pave the way for Elijah Blake's debut mixtape, Bijoux 22, which featured a co-write and guest feature from Common on "X.O.X." On top of racking up a handful of songwriting credits for Keyshia Cole and Selah Sue that year, he dropped his Drift EP in 2014, followed by his debut studio album Shadows & Diamonds in 2015. He went independent in 2016, with Blueberry Vapors arriving that year, and with the 14-track Audiology – released via Steel Wool Entertainment – landing the following year. Bijoux 23 came in 2018 and in April 2019, he released his new joint EP 1990 Forever with pop/RnB singer Jordin Sparks. He slipped into holiday mode for 2019 album Holiday Love and released a guest-packed new LP, The Neon Eon – sticking to the much-loved soulful R&B formula of his previous offerings – in 2021.
