Hey Violet, an American pop‑rock group formed in Los Angeles, California, emerged from the earlier band Cherri Bomb, which was founded in 2008 by Julia Pierce, Miranda Miller, Rena Lovelis, and Nia Lovelis while the members were still in middle school. After Julia Pierce departed in 2013, Casey Moreta joined and the remaining lineup-Rena Lovelis on lead vocals, Nia Lovelis on drums, and Casey Moreta on guitar-rebranded as Hey Violet in 2015, shifting toward a pop‑punk and electropop sound. The band released the EP Stark in 2011, followed by the album This Is the End of Control in 2012, which reached number 24 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums and number 11 on Top Heatseekers. Their 2015 single "This Is Why" marked a stylistic change, and the 2016 EP Brand New Moves yielded the single "Brand New Moves", which charted in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Hey Violet toured extensively, supporting 5 Seconds of Summer on the Rock Out with Your Socks Out and Sounds Live Feels Live tours, and headlined their own European tour in 2015. Subsequent releases included the album From the Outside (2017) and a series of EPs-Problems (2021), Deep End (2021), and Bloom (2022)-before signing with Hopeless Records in 2023 and releasing "I Should Call My Friends" in October 2023. On May 31, 2024, the group announced that it would disband on June 28, 2024, following the release of their final album Aftertaste.
