English production duo N-Joi, from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England, was formed in 1989 by Nigel Champion and Mark Franklin. The group featured vocalist Saffron as their front person. Champion attended Framlingham College while Franklin went to Felsted School, but they reunited after school. N-Joi's breakthrough came with the release of "Anthem" in 1990, which became a top five dance hit and marked the beginning of their successful career. Between 1991 and 1996, they entered the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart five times, all reaching the top 10. Two of these songs, "Mindflux" in 1992 and "The New Anthem" in 1996, reached Number 1. Their debut album Bad Things was released as a mini-CD (mcd) in 1995. In 2006, they returned to the top of the Official UK Dance Chart with a set of remixes of their biggest hit "Anthem". N-Joi's discography includes notable albums such as Screeem! (Anthem '98) released in 1998 and Live In Manchester released in 2020.
