For every mood

Revealed by the 1998 film Slam, Saul Williams (b. 1972) found himself at the origin of a movement whose limits he exceeded from the outset, constantly constructing dense, protesting texts accompanied by out-of-format music. His imaginary poetry intersects with scathing attacks on today's society. His albums and concerts are gateways to a unique, futuristic universe, as illustrated by Saul Williams, released in 2004. His next album, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust (2007), although produced by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), failed to live up to expectations. After a spoken word opus, Volcanic Sunlight was released in 2011, an album sung to rock and afrobeat rhythms. The alternative rapper then embarked on a long journey around the world, bringing back street sounds for the album MartyrLoserKing (2016).
