Origin Unknown were an influential English drum and bass duo formed in the early 1990s, comprising producers Andy C and Ant Miles. They are best known for their 1993 track "Valley of the Shadows," which became a seminal piece in the drum'n'bass genre. The duo's breakthrough came with "Valley of the Shadows," initially released as the B-side to "The Touch" in 1993 on RAM Records. The track gained significant popularity upon its re-release as a standalone single in 1996, solidifying its status as a classic in the drum'n'bass scene. In 2002, the re-release of their 1995 song "Truly One" cracked the UK Singles and UK Dance singles charts. Beyond their own productions, Origin Unknown played a pivotal role in shaping the drum'n'bass landscape through their work with RAM Records while Andy C went on to become one of the most respected producers in the game. They later formed Ram Trilogy with fellow producer Shimon, further influencing the genre's evolution.
