Idiot Pilot is an American alternative rock and electronic rock duo from Bellingham established in 2003. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by post-hardcore and for being composed of the musicians Michael Harris and Daniel Anderson. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Strange We Should Meet Here (2004) which achieved professional recognition for being remastered and re-released by the label Reprise Records. Idiot Pilot achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Wolves (2007) which was co-produced by Mark Hoppus and Ross Robinson and featured drumming by Travis Barker. The recording featured the song “Retina and the Sky” (2007) which was included on the soundtrack for the movie Transformers. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for performing on tours with the ensemble Team Sleep and the ensemble The Used. They achieved professional recognition for choosing to depart from Reprise Records in 2009 due to concerns regarding the promotion of their second recording. Their discography included the studio recording Blue Blood (2019) released after the duo ended an eight-year hiatus.
