Biografie

John William Ferrell (born on July 16, 1967), better known as Will Ferrell, is an American actor, comedian, and entrepreneur who became famous during his seven-year stint as part of the cast of acclaimed TV comedy show Saturday Night Live. Ferrell’s beginnings with standup comedy trace back to LA-based improv group The Groundlings, where he refined his acting skills and met future fellow SNL members Chris Kattan and Cheri Oteri. From 1995 to 2002, Ferrell earned the love and recognition of American audiences through his involvement in SNL, impersonating celebrities and creating some of the show’s most beloved characters. He then embarked on a very successful career in film, participating in cult comedy films such as Old School (2003), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Blades of Glory (2007), and Step Brothers (2008). Apart from his acting career, Ferrell has also provided his voice for the animated movies Megamind (2010) and The Lego Movie (2014). In 2020, he played the main protagonist in the Netflix musical comedy film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, alongside Rachel McAdams. Ferrell sang on both of the singles off the original soundtrack: “Double Trouble” and “Husavik,” which peaked at Number 91 and 60 on the UK Singles chart, respectively.
